PS.NET/GeoWEB utilizes the system of Global Positioning System in orbit by the U.S. Department of Defense and made available to the general public at no charge. GPS works in any weather, anywhere in the world, 24 hours a day. With PS.NET/GeoWEB it is possible to track almost any field device that can communicate; including mobile data terminals, personal computers, and even satellite and cellular telephones. Mobile units receive satellite signals and determine their position using very precise measurements from the satellites. This location is transmitted to a service provider either via satellites or land based radio, and the location information is routed to the EIS server where it is permanently stored on our servers |
