Crime Report Case Management Program

The Crime Report Case Management capability provides the ability for agency personnel to review reports submitted by the public.  The Case Management Program is a fully web based application and includes an intuitive report review queue.  Within the queue, by a simple click of the mouse, the reviewing officer can quickly access any report and determine whether or not to accept the report into the agency.

The CSP Case Manager provides an easy to use program that enables the agency personnel to review the submitted report to ensure that the information is complete.  The agency officer can accept the report (i.e. generate a full crime report) or reject the filing with reasons and notes back to the citizen doing the submission.

If accepted, the report is automatically copied to the agency’s server and incorporated into the RMS case reporting system.  The imported report will be entered into the crime report tables on the agency’s local PS.NET/RMS server, where it will show up as a new report and be subject to the same entry, approval, and routing rules as regular crime reports.  Both the assigned crime report number and the original tracking number are retained for reference.  The approving officer can automatically inform the reporting party via e-mail of the change in status, assign a case number, and enter any additional comments that you want returned to the reporting party.  Reports accepted from on-line submissions can be directly imported into the agency’s records management system, eliminating any duplicate data entry.

Access security to the public filings is controlled by the local agency and any number of authorized agency personnel can have access.   If the citizen filing is accepted as a legitimate crime report; it is automatically moved to the agencies servers where it enters the normal review, approval, and follow-up process.   At any time, the citizen can inquire over the Internet on the status of their report or register to be notified of changes via e-mail.
